Preparing for preschool
We believe it’s essential for children to feel happy and comfortable in their learning space. Play is how children learn best.
Each day your preschooler will need:
A hat for sun protection, such as a bucket hat, wide-brimmed hat, or legionnaires-style hat, provides the best coverage. Caps and visors are not considered effective for protection.
A fruit to share for morning tea.
Lunch – a healthy meal and a water bottle. Please note, no nuts as LBCP is a nut-free school.
Spare clothes – for water play or in case of toileting accidents.
Warm jacket or jumper.
Shoes for active play – joggers. Thongs and slip-ons are not appropriate for running or climbing.
Additionally:
If your child has a comfort item that makes them feel more comfortable, they are welcome to bring it to preschool.
Please label all items you send to help ensure they can be returned if lost. This will assist in reducing confusion and distress for children as they settle in.
It’s recommended to leave fragile, valuable, or expensive items at home. With 40 children at preschool daily and a large space, items can easily be lost or damaged.
